Hi Vincent! I was thrilled to find your blog today - glad you popped by here. I know of the guilds existence but haven't spent much time looking into it. I'd love to take part in a Berlin branch.

I also think it's a shame that stitching isn't bigger in Berlin. We're drowning under fashion designers but somehow embroidery hasn't yet made it out of spießig-ness to most.

whoa. You are teaching embroidery.
why don´t you join the german embroidery guild too? I joined just last September. There will be a big textile-event in Eppstein (near Frankfurt and Limburg) in March. It is bigger because the Lace guild and the embroidery guild joined together for this event.

Another Berlin embroidery teacher and professional stitcher is Berlin and I found her through the guild.
http://stickatelier-anne.de/wb/
She just opened an atelier and other stitchers she knew will meet there first mondays of the month for show-and-tell stuffs. We are thinking of making a berlin branch of the guild.
i personally think berlin should have a stronger and more modern stitching community, but it seems to me, more germans embroiders in Bavaria, than in the capital city.
